Well another year has passed, as we say goodbye to 2018 and hello to 2019. Today, we reflect on the writings posted to the Polynesian Hostel blog this past year. We want to thank all of you for reading and sharing our posts with your friends. The following posts are the one’s that ranked the highest among social sharing.
#5 Why Oahu Will Never Erupt
As we start in reverse order, coming in at #5 is “Why Oahu Will Never Erupt.” We’ve seen a lot of volcanic activity on the Big Island of Hawaii during the summer months of 2018. Parts of Volcano National Park and many nearby neighborhoods were destroyed by lava. And so there was obvious concern over Oahu being safe from eruptions. This posts answers that question and goes into detail of why there will never be eruptions on Oahu.
#4 Hurricanes in Hawaii
Next up at #4 is “Hurricanes in Hawaii.” The summer months are hurricane season in Hawaii, lasting from June to November. This past year, we’ve seen a few hurricanes come our way that got pretty close to the islands. But we’ve always been fortunate not to see any major damage. This post explains the main facts about hurricanes and what exactly is deflecting them away from the islands.
#3 North Shore Oahu
#3 is a recent post written this past December about “North Shore Oahu.” The winter months bring massive waves to North Shore making it a great time to watch pro surfers and enjoy the competitions in November and December. There are many other things to do on North Shore, from visiting the rustic little town of Haleiwa, eating at the many food trucks, snorkeling and looking for green sea turtles, camping underneath the stars, even taking to the skies to do some skydiving. It’s all here on North Shore. Check out the post for more details.
#2 Good Morning Polynesian Hostel
Coming in at #2 is “Good Morning Polynesian Hostel.” This is a short post where we explore what a typical morning is like at Polynesian Hostel. Everybody needs to start the day with a good breakfast. And here at the Polynesian Hostel, we serve some tasty pancakes to get you started. If pancakes are not your thing, the post also makes recommendations on other nearby places with reasonable prices.
#1 New and Improved at Polynesian Hostel
And finally, we come to the #1 post that was shared the most times out of the year: “New and Improved at Polynesian Hostel.” Now this was a post written at the beginning of 2018 to reflect on the many changes and updates we made in 2017. So it may not seem so “new” anymore since it talks about stuff from two years ago. But improvements continue. And things are always changing.
