Adventures at Kualoa Ranch

Kualoa Ranch is located on the Windward coast of Oahu and provides a number of exciting outdoor adventures. Its history dates back to the first kings of Hawaii who used the Ranch as a place of residence. Then Hollywood came along who created several movies and TV shows featuring backdrops of the Ranch. Still today, Kualoa continues to operate as a working cattle ranch and giving visitors a 4,000 acre playground to explore and have fun.

History

Kualoa Ranch dates back to 1850 when King Kamehameha III sold some land to his personal advisor Dr. Gerritt Judd. Dr. Judd and his son later bought additional land which increased the size of the Ranch to its current size of 4,000 acres. Since then, the Ranch has been passed down many generations to its current owners the Morgan family.

The Ranch

Kualoa Ranch has always and still is a family owned business. Its mission is to preserve, protect and enhance Hawaii’s natural beauty and culture. And there’s some amazing beauty at this place. Experience wide open valleys, dense rainforests, secret beaches with pure white sand, and ancient fishponds. Marvel at the high cliffs only seen in the Hollywood movies like Jurassic Park and Godzilla. Take a journey to the backlot where other movies and TV shows have been filmed, like Hawaii Five-O, Magnum P.I., and LOST.

Activities

There are a number of activities around the Ranch that it’s impossible to get bored. Go for a hike. Hop on an ATV. Or get ready to do some horseback riding. Explore those areas where the tour buses won’t go. Or strap onto a zip line and glide your way across the treetops giving you a birds-eye view of the Ranch. Hop on a tour bus and explore the different movie sites. Go jungle trekking. Take a catamaran tour. Or hang out at the secret beach. The possibilities are endless.
